Original caption reads "Young man and woman of the Gikuyu tribe". No further information available. The lack of a background suggests that the image may be a superposition of two portraits. The man is of warrior age, the woman is married and has a child. Possibly from Kinyona Location, Kigumo or Murang'a District. Photo by Jesse Raynor (African Inland Mission), circa 1903-1920.
